Steps on Posting Anonymously to Newsgroups Using Private Idaho WITHOUT An Alpha.c2.org Account

The process described below will not give you instant gratification. It normally takes 48 hours before you will see your Message Posted to the newsgroup(s) that you selected.

1. If you have not done so, before Loading Private Idaho copy ALL of the Remailer PGP keys that are included in a file called RMKEYS.TXT. These keys should be added to your Public key ring. Add all of them.
2. Select Clear All from the Edit Menu
3. Select Auto-close PGP from the PGP menu.
4. Select Remailers | Advanced Cypherpunk and then select Encrypt to Remailer(s)
5. Select Remailers | Advanced Cypherpunk and then select Post to USENET
6. Select a newsgroup from the drop down list or type in a newsgroup in the "To:" box. Please note, to add names to the drop down list, open up ADDRESS.TXT which is located in the directory that you installed Private Idaho in. In any text editor, add your favorite newsgroups or frequent email addresses to the file and save it. You will need to exit and reload Private Idaho for the changes to be recognized.
7. Select alt.anonymous.messages
8. Select Newsgroups and then email gateway. Select one of the gateways from the list. I recommend @myriad.alias.net.
9. Type your message in the message window. For example, "This is a test message sent via Private Idaho".
10. Select Append Info to Message from the email menu.
11. Your message will be encrypted with the Public PGP key of remailer@replay.com. If it is not, go back to number 2 above and start over.
12. Now the only thing that's left to do is to post the message. This is done via the Send button. If you are online, press the Send button. If you are not online, select Connect from the File menu and subsequent to connecting, select the Send button.
13. That's it. Now you'll have to be patient and wait for your message to be posted with the name of Anonymous.
