HOMEBREW COMPETITION
Details
Get your kettles cooking and your
fermenters fermenting, it's time for another Las Vegas Winterfest. This years contest will be
held at the North Las Vegas Elks Lodge located at 2939
Van Der Meer on January 18, 1998.
Last years event brought in over 300 entries and this
year promises to be even larger.
This contest will be B.J.C.P. sanctioned using current
1997 A.H.A. guidelines.
We will need judges and stewards, if you

RULES
This contest is open to any homebrewer.
Commercial or brew on premises beers are not allowed. Entries must be three 10-14 oz.
brown or green plain bottles with no labels or
identifying marks and caps
blackened out or plain. No swing top type bottles please.
Entries must have bottle labels
attached by rubber band (no tape please). Entry fees are
$4.00 per entry. As in past contests there
will be a maximum entry fee of $50.00 with no limit on
the number of entries. Please send entries
together with completely filled out recipe form and entry
fee check (made payable to Steve Mac
Millan) to:

We recommend UPS shipping labeled
non-perishable this side up. Entries must be shipped to arrive by January 14, 1998. For hand
carried entries please contact contest organizers.
Judging will be held January 18, 1998 at
10:00 AM. Judging will consist of pairs of judges utilizing standard A.H.A. score sheets.
First place entries will be placed into groups and judged
by different judges with one entry
from each group advancing to the best of show round.
As in past Winterfests attractive ribbons
will be awarded to all 1 st, 2nd and 3rd place entries
that achieve a minimum score of 25
points. Special ribbons will also be given to best of
show qualifiers, as well as best of
show, runner up and third place best of show awards. For
the second straight year the Home
Brewery of Sierra Vista Arizona will provide a $100.00
gift certificate to the best of show winner.
