11/15/97 Dear Friends, Please be advised that a BJCP Exam has been scheduled for Santa Rosa on Saturday, January 31,1998. The three hour exam Will begin at 1 p.m. We have an excellent facility with capacity for a large number of persons to take the exam comfortably. We do need at least 10 people taking the test to cover the modest cost of renting the hall. Initial response suggests we'll be well over that, but I will need to know for sure. I need to have the exam fee checks in hand at least a month in advance (the end of the year). If not enough people sign up, we may have to cancel the test. My receipt of your check reserves your place. I have to split up the money, and send it in to different places, so please make the check out to me, and write "BJCP Exam" on the check. Send it to Byron Burch, c/o The Beverage People, 840 Piner Rd. #14, Santa Rosa, CA 95403. The fee for first time takers is $50, and $30 for repeaters. If you are a repeater planning to retake one portion of the exam only, please indicate, at the time of registration, which part you're taking. Receipt of your check will be acknowledged in writing. Please pass this information on to any prospective beer judges in your area. If you feel you need more information about signing up for this test, or other related information, feel free to call me at 707-544-2520 (days). I look forward to seeing you on January 31st. Enclosed is a map giving directions to the exam site. Cheers and best wishes, <signed> Byron Burch |
