Elverta Specific Plan

The Elverta Specific Planning area is located in northern Sacramento County. The planning area contains approximately 1,800 acres to be developed with 4,500 units of housing as designated by the Rio Linda & Elverta Community Plan adopted by the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors in June 1998. The specific planning will build on the Community Plan by providing planning concepts for land use, circulation, public facilities, and parks. In addition, the plan will include development and design standards and implementation requirements.

For more information regarding the Elverta Specific Plan, contact Surinder Singh of the County of Sacramento Planning Department at: (916) 874-6141, e-mail: ssingh@sna.com

Over the next 3-1/2 months the CAC will develop a set of planning concepts for the Elverta area. The concepts will explore various patterns of housing, open space, public facility and neighborhood commercial services. By May 26, the CAC will need to be prepared to forward a preferred concept plan to the Board of Supervisors and review with the Board planning issues and opportunities and planning options explored. The CAC is responsible for:

1. Developing up to five (5) alternative land use and circulation concepts reflecting the Rio Linda/Elverta Community Plan policies.

2. Recommend and present the alternatives and recommend a preferred concept at a Board of Supervisors workshop.

Based on the direction from the CAC and the Board, the County, with input from property owner consultants, will prepare development standards, CEQA documents, and implementation requirements for the specific plan. The specific plan and related EIR is to be completed within 29 months.

The CAC will meet five times over the next months.
