Nomination for North Fork Feather River

As One of America's Most Endangered Rivers Rejected

The CSPA received a Dear John letter from American Rivers. American

River, out of Washington D.C., stated the following:

"For American Rivers, I want to thank you for nominating the Feather

River (sic) for inclusion in our report, American's Most Endangered

Rivers of 1998. You submitted a good nomination with very significant

information, and we greatly appreciate your time and effort."

"Unfortunately, we did not include the Feather on the 1998 list........."

"Be sure to watch for the release of American's Most Endangered Rivers

of 1998 on April 6."

The letter was signed by Chadwin B. Smith, Conservation Policy Analyst

& Outreach Coordinator with an e-mail address of chadsmith@amrivers.org

For a copy of their one page letter from American Rivers, please forward your fax number to me via e-mail. I will fax the letter back to you for your review and comment.

Briefly put, Washington D.C. is not the place to get California rivers fixed. So we will need to work with all of our strength to fix the North Fork Feather River by ourselves.
