Fall River Wild Trout Foundation

MISSION STATEMENT

GENERAL PURPOSE

The purpose of the Fall River Wild Trout Foundation is to support restoration projects, scientific research and educational programs that will promote the restoration and protection of the Fall River as a world renown dry fly trophy trout fishery, as well as other recreational, wildlife and aesthetic qualities all within the framework of the needs of ranching, agriculture, forestry and other economic uses.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES AND PURPOSES

To expeditiously restore the seriously degraded and imperiled Fall River trophy wild trout fishery to a healthy, viable condition; and once restored, to promote its long-term health and maintenance.

To restore and maintain a riparian zone along the Fall River consistent with the needs of a healthy aquatic ecosystem and wildlife habitat.

To restore, enhance, and maintain the tributary Bear Creek drainage basin and all other tributaries to the extent that they affect the health of the Fall River.

To determine the most effective and responsible restoration methods and management practices consistent with those of ranching, agriculture, forestry and other economic uses.

To promote the cooperation of ranchers, farmers, foresters, anglers, and recreationalists in developing and implementing restoration and protection programs, and to promote public awareness and education regarding the wild trout fishery.

To support independent research on issues and topics regarding our objectives and purposes, and to seek funding sources from public and private sources to support those projects.

To provide the strong collective voice needed to be effective advocates for the concerns of our membership with the various governmental agencies.
